Getting started

This is a beginners course and I will be teaching Yang style Tai Chi as modified by Mr Moy.

You will learn:

The first seventeen movements of the one hundred and eight movements of the set and Foundation exercises.

Some important concepts underlying Qi (Chi), our life's energy, Yin and Yang, Breathing, Moving Meditation and the use of your mind. Tai Chi is working with your life's energy. It is a centuries old system in China for improving your health, co-ordinating body posture and movement, using the breath and the mind. People practice for exercise, training for the martial arts, relaxation, preventive medicine and self-healing. Tai Chi is an internal martial art. You must be able to stand and move for the period of the class. It is not aerobic and you do NOT go onto the floor and use a mat.
